Youtube

I'm sure you've all heard of 'youtube.com'. And if you haven't, well then someones been living in a cave for the past four years! But if you have, you just gotta love it. No doubt that its fun to search videos that your friends tell you are good. I even like to sit on my computer and search for random things! Who wouldn't? (If you're a hermit, then that's a different story.) But what if you type in the wrong kinds of things? What if a young child is around and sees what you're searching?

Everyone is into different things. And youtube is a multicultural video site. You've got your music videos, videos that are completely random, informational videos, and then you've got the completely wrong and disturbing videos. Parents especially don't want their children watching those kinds or videos. So when some people say that youtube is a 'kid friendly place', is it really? I'd say no way. There are some pretty disturbing things out there but the worst thing is to put it on youtube. Young kids go on everyday. Even five-year-olds go on. And as all little kids are like, they get easily attracted to things. So when that child clicks on a video that is not meant for them and his/her mother or father comes and sees what their kid is watching, they will most likely ban their child from ever using youtube again. But that would be horribly wrong to do. So that kid grows up and his friends tell him to watch a video on youtube. And so that kid (lets call him Billy) goes to his parents at home and asks if he can go on youtube. His parents say no. Later on in Billy's teenage years, he will start to rebel. He'll run away (as many teens do every year) and his parents will blame it on themselves. And they should. They banned youtube from their poor Billy's life. And from what? Because some stupid person but a bad video on youtube and your child just happened to watch it on accident.

Lesson learned: You can't ban youtube from a child's life. It just can't be done. Everyone uses youtube. Some may do it for research and others may use it for pleasure. And teach your kids to avoid bad kinds of stuff.
Lesson two: DON'T POST NASTY VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE! YOU ARE CORRUPTING YOUNG PEOPLES MINDS!
